BJ Deal Wins Exciting B-Mod Feature

A triumphant return, a scary roll over, and a new track record were part of the night at the Charleston Speedway on Saturday. A fast track made for great racing action.

BJ Deal made his first trip to the track this year a memorable one as he claimed the B-Mod Feature. Deal was able to win the race from the fifth starting position. Ed Roley was the early leader before Deal passed him for the win.

The Factory Stock heat race was halted on the second lap as Randy Smyser was turned sideways on the front stretch and rolled his car in front of the grandstands. Smyser was able to get out of his car and walk away from the crash. Jesse Simmons went on to win the race and also won his sixth straight feature.

Mike Staggs set a new qualifying record in the Winged Late Model division. Derrick Hufford won the feature in a race the saw some great action and several passes for the lead.

In the A-Mod feature, Tyler Weiss led every lap to win his third race in five trips to the track.

Danny White, Jr. took to the high side to overtake early race leader Brady Reed to win the Hornet feature.

This Saturday will be Autograph Night at the Charleston Speedway. Fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite driver during intermission. The classes running will be Modifieds, B-Mods, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Hornets.
