Hawkins Wins Hornet Special

A Hornet Special, an exciting Modified feature, a track qualifying record, and a great car count highlighted racing at Charleston Speedway on Saturday.

Joshua Hawkins jumped out front and led the entire way to claim the $225 to win Hornet feature, presented by Geno's 24/7 Sewer and Drain Cleaning.

In the Modified feature, Rick Stevens led the first 15 laps before Tyler Weiss made a pass for the lead. The two drivers continued to exchange the front spot for two laps. Weiss took the lead for good and the victory.

Kenny Carmichael, Jr. won the feature for the Winged Late Models, Marvin Burton set the track qualifying record earlier in the night.

B-Mod points leader Ed Roley won the feature. Roley extended his lead in the class.

Justin Jones won his first feature in the Factory Stock division.

Saturday will be a regular night of racing with Modifieds, B-Mods, Streets, Factory Stock, and Hornets running.
